PC Setup for HP LaserJet 4250 in BSW 305  (updated 01/03/05)

Here are the steps needed to set up and print to the LJ 4250 over the net from PC's running Windows XP or 2000 in BSW, LSS or BSE. It is a 35 ppm, B&W printer with duplexing and multiple pages per sheet capabilities. It has updated Postscript and Windows drivers and should do well with regular Windows files as well as pdf and Mac files. It prints at a true 1200 dpi. For older Windows machines or to print to it from other locations, see Nick for help.

*** Note that you should have an EEB domain account, and the machine you want to print from must be able to logon to the domain. Nick can set either of these up for you - call 621-1446 or kneen@email.arizona.edu

Windows NT/2000/XP Setup
From the PC you want to print from - assuming you have logged onto the EEB domain:
  •  for Windows 2000\Windows XP:

This should install the correct printer driver on your machine and create a printer icon for the LJ4250 in your Print dialog boxes.
You can verify connectivity by right clicking the printer icon in the Printers listing dialog box off the Start menu -> select Properties and click the Print Test Page button,

  • When you print to it, select the Properties button from the print dialog box and then the Finishing tab to select page orientation, duplexing and page layout options.
