Overview

At the graduate level I have served as Ph.D. advisor to students in biology, mathematics and philosophy. My goal in advising students is for them to develop into independent scholars and teachers. Most of my students begin by working with me on a project of mutual interest, perhaps one of my ongoing projects, and in time they develop their own research interests and direction. My research group is small and may comprise at any one time a few students and a postdoctoral fellow.
