206 Course Announcements:

● Bring your LAB NOTEBOOK to the final exam.

Extra Credit Opportunity:

10 points possible. Turn in at the final exam (Friday 15 May 8-10am in BSW208).

Type and use no more than one piece of paper (both sides is acceptable).

Read two of the following articles. Summarize the main point of each article.

Relate each article to something in your life and/or a topic in this course. Enjoy.

1. Gleick & Cooley 2009

        2. Turvey et al. 2007

        3. Stone 2008

        4. Schwartzman & Zimmerman 2005

        5. Primack et al. 2009

● The Creativity Exhibit will take place on Friday 01 May from 9-noon. Please bring a sheet of paper to post with your art that has 1) your name, 2) the title of your piece, and 3) your ‘artist’s statement’ (a paragraph or so will likely suffice). [Flyer spring 2009]

● You will note in your syllabus that you have two non-conventional “current events” assignments to turn in this semester. One of them is on a seminar (see links to schedules below) that you attend and summarize. We will treat this seminar write-up as 10 pts extra credit. The other is on a scientific article and we are going to skip that assignment. If you missed a current event at some point in the semester you will now have the opportunity to replace that zero. If you did not yet miss a current events assignment then you do not have to turn one in the last week (01 May).

15 Feb 2009: More information for Bonus Song presentations, in addition to info in syllabus.

● First Debate (Fri lab participating) is Wed 18 Feb in lecture

Current Events Assignment due via email to your TA by 9am each Friday.
