Thanksgiving at the Grand Canyon!

1998

We returned in 1998, again for Thanksgiving dinner at El Tovar and two days of hiking.

On our after-dinner stroll along the canyon rim we were rewarded with the site of a Desert Bighorn Sheep walking just below the rim. The Bright Angel Trail is visible behind the sheep on the far wall of the canyon.

This time we hiked to Dripping Springs along a spectacular trail.

Near the Dripping Springs ampitheater a huge rockslide deposited boulders on the trail with exposed fossil animal tracks.

On Sunday we awoke to find a deep blanket of snow on the ground and Christmas-like scenes.
