OLD NOTES

I'll be slowly updating the web site as I begin lecturing in the course.

****remeber - you have access to resources in the lectures of the last few years*****

A couple of quick notes:

Actual content of the lectures is determined by where I STOP in each class each day, not by how many slides I place on the handouts / powerpoint slides before the lecture. I will always explain clearly (in class) where in the lectures you are responsible for recalling for the exam.

If you email me, please, please put "ECOL 182 - (then a title)" in the subject heading of your email. If you don't, then I'll likely miss the message.

It was pointed out to me that I didn't have my readings listed on the syllabus! So below are the chapters and pages we'll cover throughout my lectures in the book (remember I may refer to more, depending on specific slide that I reference).

Phylogenetic Analysis - Chapters 25 & 26

Evolution of photoautotrophy - Pp. 534-542, 550. Review, Chapter 7 (figs 7.5; 7.17; 7.19); Chapter 8 (pp. 145-156).

Evolution and diversity in plants - Chapters 29 & 30.

Plant structure and function - Chapters 35 & 36.

Plant function types - Chapter 40.

Communities and ecosystems - Chapter 55.

Quiz 3 - Plant Biology***This quiz was given in class on 3-8-2007***
