I am an evolutionary biologist, trained in evolutionary and population genetics. My interests in general involve understanding the interplays and interactions underlying adaptation, this includes natural selection, complex trait architecture, and genetic and environmental variation. Previously, I have worked using quantitative genetics to understand the evolution of life history traits in modern human populations using pedigrees reconstructed using extensive genealogies. Currently, I am working on studying the mutation load problem in populations and test models to explain its maintenance and its impact on population dynamics. Other topics I am interested in include: eco-evolutionary dynamics, multi-level selection, and evolutionary computation. Subjects I like to discuss are philosophy of biology and science, politics, and advancement of education.
