Easy Windows XP/2000 Install in BSW, BSE and LSS:
For ease of connecting, your PC should either be on the EEB or the new EEBWEB domain and you should have a domain user account. Let us help set this up for you: 621-1446
Open the Printers dialog box: Start-->Settings-->Printers/Faxes
For machines on the EEB domain, type into the top Address box, using backslashes: \\Laplumpa (and then press) Enter. This shows a listing of the shared folders and printers on the print server.
LJ 4250 Install:
Right click the icon for the LJ4250-WIN (windows driver) and choose Connect, and then the same for the LJ4250-PS (postscript driver). The correct drivers will download and both printer formats will be added to your Printers area - the PS drivers will do better with .pdf and postscript files.
You may need to set up the duplexer and the 3rd paper tray via the the printer Properties page --> Device Settings tab before printing.
* Optional Tray 3 = 500 sheets * Duplex = installed * Memory installed = 80 MB
LJ 4700 Color Install:
As above, but Right click the icon for the LJ 4700DN and choose Connect. The correct drivers will be downloaded and the printer will be added to your Printers area.
Easy OS X Install:
OS X printing support is a moving target. From 10.3.7 and later versions:
LJ 4250 Install:
Open the Printer Setup Utility (in the Dock or in the Applications: Utilities folder)
Click Add Printer, Then choose AppleTalk and the Local AppleTalk Zone
Scroll down and select the LJ4250 BSW305 printer
Select the Printer Model as HP 4200 and Name as 4200 (for correct driver), then ADD
Use the Show Info menu icon to setup the Installable Options:
* Optional Tray 3 = 500 sheets * Duplexer = Check for Installed * Memory = 64-95 MB
LJ 4700DN Install:
You will need to first run the Installer from the HP LaserJet 4700DN CD to get the driver on the machine - see below
Open the Printer Setup Utility as above, Click Add Printer, choose AppleTalk and the Local AppleTalk Zone
Select the HP LaserJet 4700DN and Model,, then ADD
