Sex and Evolution

This Freshman Colloquium provides an introduction to evolutionary thinking with regards to one of the most basic characteristics of the living world: sex. Why is the living world so sexual? Why has nature settled on this awkward arrangement of males and females (and all that implies), when simple cloning would be so much easier?

Cooperative learning methods are used in class.
