Talk Abstract Literary and our own data on the evolutionary aspects of ontogenesis in the green volvocacean algae have been considered. Necessary information on taxonomy, phylogeny and ecology of this group has been used. An analysis of the rate, diurnal rhythm and light/dark control of cell divisions in various species as well as experiments with the inhibitors of nucleic acids and protein synthesis have enabled us to elucidate cellular mechanisms of the evolutionary reorganizations of asexual development in the genus Volvox. |
