- Residents of Arizona who are at least a junior, but not a senior, by Fall 2007 and have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 earned at the University of Arizona, majoring in one of the following: Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics, Chemistry, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, Biology, or Molecular & Cellular Biology.
- $1,000/yr renewable for a second year

- Students conducting research in the field(s) of alcoholism, macular degeneration of the eye, cancer, human nutrition or allergies.

The 2006-2007 University of Arizona chapter of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society is proud to offer the 2007 Woman of the Year Class Awards to freshman, sophomore, and junior female students.
While currently comprised of both men and women, Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society was originally an all female organization. Because of this, the members of Mortar Board feel that women on college campuses should be individually recognized for all their efforts. Therefore, Mortar Board Class Awards are given annually to women in the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes who exhibit excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and service.
All awards are given based on self nominations. A 3.2 minimum GPA is required for consideration. Please place the items from the Word document announcement in a large manila envelope and submit it to ASUA by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Chain Gang Junior Honorary is proud to sponsor the Richard Garcia Memorial Scholarship commemorating the late Richard Garcia. Richard Garcia was Student Body President, head resident of Graham/Greenlee residence hall, and member of Primus, Sophos, Chain Gang, and Bobcats honoraria, in addition to being a recipient of the Freeman Medal in 1982. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to one outstanding female and one outstanding male University of Arizona student with junior standing who exemplifies active involvement and dedication to the University of Arizona.
To be eligible an applicant must:
- Have junior standing at the UA and be a full-time student
- Be of Hispanic, African American, Native American, Pacific Islander, or Asian descent
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75
- Be active in campus activities/organizations

The University of Arizona chapter of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society is proud to offer the Jody Winn-Oden Memorial Scholarship.
The award was established in 1984 in memory of Jody Winn-Oden, a pre-medical student and member of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society, who was tragically killed that year in a car accident.
Both men and women with junior standing pursuing a pre-medical curriculum or majoring in nursing are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Selections will be based upon the availability to convey outstanding character, leadership, and service, as well as the display of sincere dedication to the medical profession. The award may amount up to $1,000.

Established in 1983, the scholarship is awarded annually to an individual who most exemplifies the qualities that Mortar Board demands of its own members; namely, outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service to both the University of Arizona and the community.

Mortar Board is a Senior Honorary built on the characteristics of outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service to both the University of Arizona and the surrounding community. Each year we seek to recognize one female member of the University of Arizona Faculty who has demonstrated leadership, promoted high standards in the academic community, and has contributed outstanding service both to students and the overall welfare of the University.
