Scholarships

The Univesrity of Arizona awards many scholarships, as do numerous colleges and departments within the University. UA students may also obtain scholarship money from organizations outside the University.

 

2012 GALILEO CIRCLE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EEB & Biology Majors!
The Galileo Circle is a society of individuals whose support is critical to the continued excellence in the sciences at the University of Arizona.  This year, members of the Galileo Circle have kindly provided funding for several $1000 scholarships for EEB & Biology students.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA FOR THE GALILEO CIRCLE SCHOLARSHIP FOR EEB & Biology UNDERGRADS:
- Currently declared as an EEB or Biology major (students graduating in May 2012 are also eligible).
- Minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA.
- Completion of at least one semester of research experience.
- Full time student.

TO APPLY:
Please compile a packet of information including:
1. A completed Galileo Circle Scholarship Application Form (attached.)
2. A personal statement (one page maximum; include current research interests and future goals).
3. A resume (including education, honors/awards, grants/scholarships, research experience, professional affiliations, publications, community service, etc.).
4. A letter of support from a College of Science faculty member.

Submit your packet to Liz Oxford in person at Biosciences West, Room 310.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:
Application packets must be received by noon on Monday, February 27, 2012.  Late submissions will not be accepted.  Award winners will be notified by March 12, 2012 via their UA e-mail address. 

Scholarship awardees should plan to attend an early evening reception on Thursday, April 19, 2012, where they will meet their respective scholarship donor.
