The Robert W. Hoshaw Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund: Selection ProcessHoshaw Home Selection Awardees About Publications Nominations are usually due in early or mid August, and the announcement is made at the annual EEB Welcome Seminar. The following guidelines have been established for choosing students. These are based in part on Ruth Hoshaw's input: 1) Students must be enrolled in a full-time graduate program in the EEB department and registered for the Fall semester. |
2) Students will be nominated by their major professors, based on their academic record and either their progress to date or their potential contribution to the field of ecology and evolutionary biology, broadly defined. Also, according to Mrs. Hoshaw’s wishes, students should not be in their last stage of the program.
3) Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates excellence in a particular undertaking, such as publishing a manuscript or preparing a paper for a national or international conference. |
